AGOV explained in simple language
AGOV is a new login for Swiss government services.
That is pronounced: A‑gov.With AGOV, you can communicate with public authorities online.
For example: File your tax return online
Or tell your town about a new address.
Or Fill out a form for the canton.
This only works if the office uses AGOV.Before, each office had its own login.
Now many offices use the same login: This is AGOV.
Jetzt gibt es ein Login für viele Behörden: Das ist AGOV.
It’s easier and saves time.You need AGOV if you want to do something with government services online.
For example: completing your tax return onlineAGOV lets you log in safely.
You show: I am truly myself.
You need:
- your own email address
- A smartphone or a security key called FIDO
Then go to the website www.agov.ch
or directly to an official website, for example that of your canton.
Click «Create AGOV» or «Register now!».
Follow the steps on the screen.Registration is simple and only takes a few minutes.
If you want to register with a public authority:
Open the website.
Example: www.gurkenzucht.ch
Click on: «Start login via AGOV»Now you have two options:
Use your smartphone.
Open the AGOV app and scan the QR code.OR
Use a FIDO security key plugged into your computer.
That’s all!You are now logged in and can start.
