In the video, the AGOV QR code cannot be scanned using the camera app. In the meantime, this is possible in many cases, but it is not recommended. The camera app option for AGOV may be deactivated in the future (see FAQ 4.6).

Government services must remain accessible even under difficult conditions. AGOV will therefore also be operated in future on a cloud platform provided by a Switzerland-based provider at an operating site in Switzerland. No cloud region of a global hyperscaler will be used for this additional AGOV site (agov.ch/itscm).

AGOV-End-to-End-Probing closes a central gap in monitoring, strengthens the stability of the entire e-government ecosystem, and ensures that the login functions reliably and quickly.

The Mail Domain ID is a digital proof based on the trust infrastructure of the Swiss e-ID. It confirms that a person holding this proof on their mobile phone was able to receive emails on a specific domain. The Issuer will become part of AGOV Business Accounts agov.ch/biz.

AGOV should be used as widely as possible for the digital services of Swiss public authorities within the applicable legal framework. Any extension to healthcare, higher education and transversal service providers requires corresponding political commitment and provision under sector-specific legislation.

Video 14: The AGOV Business Account in brief
AGOV is not used exclusively for private purposes: individuals also use it when acting on behalf of companies, associations, public authorities and other organisations. From 2027, the new “Business Account” will support this enterprise context. The video explains how the Business Account works, the opportunities it offers for target systems and governance, and the limits of its legal scope.
